Downtown Leesburg :: Leesburg VA

One of Virginia’s most vibrant and attractive communities, Leesburg was founded in 1758. Originally called George Town after the reigning monarch of Great Britain, the name was changed to Leesburg in honor Virginia’s influential Lee family. Currently the seat of government for Loudoun County, Leesburg’s Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
